Wood Wide Web

Natural elements of the world around us are often seen as static and oblivious to human life.

However, trees are much livelier than they appear. The original world wide web was a root system of trees.

In a world increasingly connected by technology, we forget that networking is not a human concept.

Root systems have connected trees for billions of years before humans even dreamed of the internet.

UV light reveals the hidden underground network system that exists beyond the human experience.
Visitor Experience

The everyday concept of a tree becomes transformed at night with UV lighting up paint only visible in those wavelengths.

Projected imagery around circle of trees provoke deeper understanding of the complexity of trees
